Vintage Baby Shoes

Good afternoon everyone, wanted to share with you an awesome pattern by Hazel Ruth that tried and love it! Her pattern is called Antique Baby Shoes and is available in an e-pattern. I had this pattern for some time but never got around to making them. Once I did, I thought they were completely adorable! (Please note, I'm not affiliated with Hazel Ruth in any way, just like sharing goodies/info with you.)
The first pair I made were a little tattered, giggles. We had just taken in a new stray dog, Trapper, and he stole my shoes while drying on the banisters, lol! Needless to say he chewed them a little before I found they were missing, but that just gave them character! So here are the first pair after re-doing from Trapper's attack, lol...

And the following are the others I recently finished....

These lil vintage baby shoes look great slightly stuffed or left un-stuffed as you can see in the pics. I think the two tone, black/white shoes are my fav? If you love the vintage baby shoes as I do, you'll want to make a collection for yourself! Even if you don't group them together you can tuck them where ever and spice up an empty spot.
Till next time, wishing you a very crafty day!
Warm hugs, Libs

Finished Gingy Dolls!

Yeah! I finally finished the gingy dolls, giggles! They had been waiting since last Fall for their clothes and finishing touches. (Poor things!) These dolls are from a pattern, "Cookies Anyone" made by Maureen Mills of Sweet Meadows Farm. They are completely adorable and lots of fun playing with the facial expressions. (Please note, I'm not affiliated with Maureen or SMF in any way, just sharing my creations from her patterns.) Also, I didn't have the cute lil wooden rolling pins she has in her doll's hand and didn't want to wait to order them so I created my own prim Cinnamon Stick Rolling Pin Ornies, lol! I think they turned out cute and you can get my tut for them at the forum....The Crafter's Nestled Nook. Those can be used for your dolls or as ornies/bowl fillers, even mix in with potpourri. Enough of my chattering (lol), here are my finished dolls by Sweet Meadows Farm....

The second one....

Third and last one....

My DIL has already said she has to have one but hasn't made up her mind which one, LOL! I think my fav is the one in tan/black check? Next I'll be finishing some pumpkins I started last Fall. I had several unfinished projects from Fall and need to get them done. Will be sharing pics as I complete them and hope you enjoy seeing them. Till next time, wishing you a very crafty day!
Prim hugs, Libs

Spice Cupboard Make-Over

Want to share with you today the lil spice cupboard I've been working on. Due to the humidity it's taken a while to finish this project. I'll show you the before and after pics but for anyone curious I'll tell what I did. As you can see in the before pic below it had a little fruit decal on the top shelf backboard. I first took the cupboard apart then sanded the decal so it would be gone. I wanted to remove the lattice inside the doors so I carefully took them out. Since I wanted a Mustard over Black, I spray painted the flat black base coat. I then mixed a mustard shade using my Apple Barrel acrylic crafting paints and painted each piece allowing to dry in-between two coats. Now it was time to decide what I wanted to replace inside the doors. I was thinking of wire screen, but when I got my roll I saw it wasn't the wire type. So I used some small square panel wire, or better known as rabbit wire. Once those were finished it was time to put on the stain/sealer. That finally dried today so I re-assembled the cupboard and can now enjoy the new prim look! And, I also have a tut on making the lil spice jar labels which can be found on The Crafter's Nestled Nook forum here:

This is the before pic of lil cupboard with spice jars as hubby brought home to me:

Here's another before pic....

Here it is after the make-over....

And another after pic.......
